Burning Chrome

"Mantis" is an electric motorcycle I designed for my cyberpunk project. It belongs to the protagonist in the worldview, who is a hitman with a strong, reckless, and decisive personality. Therefore, when designing the motorcycle, I centered it around these characteristics as well. To be continue

Here are some initial sketches where I tried various shapes, but the main focus of the design was centered around "Chunky, Powerful, Huge". To add some interest and uniqueness to the design, I thought of the mantis's strong and powerful forelimbs and tried to incorporate the "Z" shape of the mantis forelimbs into the design. At the same time, I chose a more square shape language to make the overall design more powerful. So for the final design, I combined the sketch in the upper-left corner with the sketch in the lower-left corner and got an interesting result. To be continue

At this stage, I tried to showcase the motorcycle from different angles and determine whether the arrangement of details, allocation of large, medium, and small shapes, and proportions were comfortable. 

Here is further exploration of functionality. The body of the vehicle tilts when turning, and the two front wheels move independently. When starting the vehicle, the dashboard rises up.

At this stage, the design is almost finalized, and I was trying to have the character ride on it to see how it looks and check whether the position arrangement of each component is reasonable.

Now it is the turn of the protagonist of the story and owner of the "Mantis" motorcycle: Automatic Jack. This name was inspired by a novel by William Gibson. He is a fierce and strong hitman who is also skilled in mechanical repair.

Here is the initial sketch of the character, and I designed it based on the personality and abilities of the protagonist. He is a tough guy with strength and a cold demeanor. I designed a mask to emphasize this "coldness" characteristic.

Natalie the bodyguard, is a personal bodyguard, who operates as a mercenary in a cyberpunk worldview. She is proficient in various weapons, loyal to her employer, adept in different strategies, and even uses her beauty as a deadly weapon.

Zofia, is also a member of the protagonist team, with excellent revolver shooting skills, and the daggers she carries can be used as a throwing knife to attack enemies.
