Batman Model

This is the final result of my second year personal project at Falmouth University, where we were tasked to create our own brief. I chose to model my own design of Batman, using different Batman media to inform my design, with a grappling gun as an optional extension of my project. I created the concept art through photobashing costumes and facial features of Batman suits/actors

I used a variety of programs for my project including: Procreate, Photoshop, ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag, Unreal Engine 5

Here are my final renders of my Batman model, I created a scene in Unreal Engine using Megascans from Quixel Bridge (https://quixel.com/megascans/library/). Besides the model itself and the grappling gun I also drew a series of Batman villain themed graffiti which I added by making them into Decals. I had a lot of fun coming up with concepts for the graffiti!

Here are a variety of research pages I created, with annotations expressing the details and my opinions on them all. I used this to inform my final Batman design. I wanted to explore different Batman media to find my favourite aspects of costuming and facial features. I also intended on incorporating the late Kevin Conroy as a tribute to him and his legacy and The Batman, which I decided would be his eyes.

These are the model sheets for my Batman model, with different views of the model in the stages of creation. I have included the version with and without his mask. In my presentation sheet I have the final model alongside my concept art!

Finally, here is the model sheets for my recreation of the grappling gun from the 1989 Batman movie. After completing the Batman model, I used the remaining time to model and texture this version of Batman's grappling gun.
