My Solo Game Dev projects in Unity in 3 semesters, 6 projects, and 9 months.

*the projects are not presented in chronological order but in terms of best to worst*

Let me take you on a journey through all of my projects, starting with my most recent and final creation, which I completed in just three months.

If you're curious about the aspect ratio of the game, it's actually designed to fill your entire screen. However, since my monitor has a different aspect ratio than YouTube, the video may appear differently on your screen.

Silent Honor is an immersive third-person RPG game designed to challenge players in the style of Dark Souls. Built using the Unity game engine, this project was a personal endeavor to learn the art of game design while paying homage to one of my favorite franchises. The game includes various features such as rolling, basic locomotion, sound design, UI design, a minimap, fast travel, and a day and night cycle. Additionally, the game features a weapon inventory and system, including epic boss battles, loot chests, high-resolution rendering, realistic water shader, and visually stunning VFX. This game is a testament to my passion for game development, and I hope players will find themselves fully immersed in the world of Silent Honor.

After 3 weeks of learning the basics of Unity's Bolt Visual Scripting, I challenged myself to make a First-Person Zombie Game in Unity in just 3 months ...

I don't want to just create a simple zombie game that allows the player to shoot the undead. Instead, I want to evoke a sense of horror and fear in the player by immersing them in an environment overrun by the walking dead.

I started looking for references to guide me. In my opinion, the Resident Evil franchise has created the most immersive horror environments in gaming, so I definitely added it to my list of references.

Left4Dead for its simple UI, easy-to-pick-up game mechanics, and linear-level design.

Finally DaysGone for its horde and the tension that it gives the player.

Moving on to the next project, I created a game inspired by the Omni-Directional Gear featured in Attack on Titan.

Thanks to ChatGPT, I was able to code all the necessary physics formulas and equations required for the script.

Similar to the anime, the game features three different walls with distinctive environments for players to swing around using the ODM gear. To enhance the immersive experience, we created custom-made sound effects for the ODM gear and incorporated background music from the show. Players will feel like they are flying around, just like in the actual anime.

Moving on to my first semester's final project, which was also my debut in game development.

This project holds a special place in my heart as it marks my debut in the world of game development. Despite not being anything groundbreaking, it taught me invaluable lessons that I carry with me to this day. I remember the joy I felt when I first implemented player movement, enemy AI, double jump, and level design, and how each new feature brought me one step closer to my goal. Though it may have its flaws, I'm proud of it nonetheless - it's a tangible representation of the progress I've made and the challenges I've overcome. I'm excited to continue honing my skills and pushing myself to create even better games in the future.

Let me also showcase some of the projects I created during my Unity VFX class, which marked the beginning of my journey into the world of visual effects.
