David Uribe - Visual effects 2023
Hi! These are a selection of projects I've been doing during my second and last year of VFX with Houdini at Universal Arts School in Valencia, Spain. I love to make simulations and place them in nice environments. Hope you like them!
Waterfall Simulation
I wanted to create an environment that could feel real and transmit a sensation of wilderness, it was a challenge to achieve the movement and aesthetics I wanted but I think the result has an incredible atmosphere. Everything was simulated in Houdini, rendered with Arnold, and used nuke for compositing.

Sandman
I wanted to recreate a great shot from the Netflix Sandman series. Had a few tries and end up feeling that a particle simulation plus some smoke was the most appropriate approach. An extra particle simulation was needed for the rain system and pyro sim for the cover smoke at the end of the shot.

House Destruction
This project started with my school's rigid bodies assignment, after some time I revisit the project and try to improve some aspects. I really like to place my simulations in a nice environment so I create this heightfield and give some rural vibe. Took some good time to render, but I learned a lot in the process. The render was done in Redshift

Thank you for watching!
