A Day in Week in a Year

This is the progress that I've made during my first year of CG training at Think Tank Training Centre. It was during this process of self discovery (and first attempt at almost everything) that I realized I would like to become a texturing/surfacing artist.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire's Subpod

Advanced Term

Original concept by Jim Martin

This is my final project for my third term at Think Tank. It’s a re-interpretation in full CG of Disney’s “Atlantis The Lost Empire” Subpod.

For this project I wanted to focus primarily on texturing, shading and hard surface modeling. After working exclusively on Mari and V-Ray I decided to try out Substance 3D Painter and Arnold.

Serendipity x FLCL

Intermediate Term

"Serendipity" by Jon Totton.

This is my final project for the second term at Think Tank Training Centre.

After my first term's final project I decided I would like to focus on a hero asset this time around. I mixed things up by choosing Jon Totton’s photograph titled “Serendipity” instead of an illustration. Additionally, I decided to model a Vespa Super Sport 180 from the animated series FLCL instead of the original Vespa PX150.

Although it may not show on the final render, I was also able to improve my workflow substantially compared to my foundation's final project.

Hidden Nature

Foundations Term

"Hidden Nature" original concept by Goro Fujita.

This is my final project for my first term of training at Think Tank; completed in 1 month of production time. This was my first big-scale CG project, starting with only a couple of months of studying 3D art, a reference and a lot of enthusiasm for getting it done.

Original concept, wireframe, raw render from maya, final render.

M-84 Stun Grenade Texturing

Texturing assignment

Completed during my first term of CG training at Think Tank. This was my first texturing and look development assignment during my studies. It was after this project that I started to get really interested about texturing and surfacing.

Model was provided by Think Tank.

Diffuse, spec, gloss, bump, final render.

Thank you for reading until the end!
