The Umbrella Academy Title Sequence

A title-sequence I worked on together with Gaby Alvarez Nunez. We had less than five weeks of turn around and the ultimate goal of the assignment was not only to give the Netflix original IP, The Umbrella Academy, a title but also rebrand the IP for viewers based on the monochromatic aesthetic and symbolism of the characters. The inspiration for this title was identifying the brand and its superhero team with weapons or imagery that represents their powers. We selected to work in black and white to stay true to the logo, the comic book, as well as existing Netflix bumps for the series. Created for our MOME 408 class Winter 2023. She did the final editing and compositing as well as the beginning and ending animations, I did the style frames and animations for each character, actor, and their name.
