Hey everyone! This is my latest personal project made with my friend Yoann Leong. I was in charge of modeling, texturing and lookdev. We did this as part of the La Forge contest and it took us about a month to do. I loved working on this project and learned a lot. Thanks again to my friend Yoann Leong.

Hey everyone! This is my latest personal project made with my friend Yoann Leong. I was in charge of modeling, texturing and lookdev.

We did this as part of the La Forge contest and it took us about a month to do. I loved working on this project and learned a lot.

Thanks again to my friend Yoann Leong and to everyone at La Forge for their feedbacks and advices.

On this project most of the parts were quick to model but some parts were problematic. The arms were quite complex as they were mixing smooth and sharp shapes

I tried to have the most efficient topology while staying in quad and having a good edge flow. Just like the arm, legs and mask were quite complex to model

As far as the organisation of my scene is concerned, I reproduce what I had read in Andrew Hodgson's blogs in order to work as much as possible as I will in production. Whether it's the naming conventions or how I approached my model

For the UVs, I tried to optimize the unfolding as much as possible while avoiding deformations and leaving them all in the same orientation

For this project, there was a lot of back and forth between Substance Painter and Arnold to get the right bump. The bump had to be strong enough to be seen from a distance but not too exaggerated to be realistic.

PROPS BREAKDOWN

The car being an asset that we were going to see from afar I got a model from mecabrick and I redid the textures and lookdevs

The bricks being assets that were going to be very close to the camera I had to pay extra attention to them.

The bricks were straight forward to make. The only real challenge I had was that I had to make them very quickly compared to the batman because I had to send it to Yoann for the lighting

Thanks a lot for reading this far. I hope you enjoyed this breakdown, if you did, please leave a like!
