Death Corrupted Dragonoid
First time making a completely stylized character whose style is based off the Darksiders video game series. Also first time making a character optimized for use in a game engine
The Death Corrupted Dragonoid is a character that was made in my Character/Creature Pipeline class in my Senior year at SCAD. the goal was to create a production-ready model that was optimized for use in a game world. The style of the character was meant to emulate something akin to the Darksiders game series, taking most of the inspiration from Darksiders II.
I create the character using a high to low workflow, starting with creating an initial concept sheet to follow from start to finish. Then I created the high poly character and weapon in ZBrush, then taking both models and retopologizing UVing, rigging and posing in Maya. I then took the low poly versions of both the character and weapon and baked and textured them in Substanc Painter, using a hand painted approach to really nail the stylized look of the Darksiders games. Lastly I rendered the posed characterin Marmoset Toolbag for the 4k still images and turntable.
