Zachary Rutten - 3D character work
This is a selection of work I've produced in the past year. I've been working to improve both my character art and hard surface modelling as well as lighting and presentation.
Flesh Cleaver
The flesh cleaver is designed as a horror enemy who is unnerving just to look at in a way that's based in reality without being supernatural. My workflow was to sculpt the character and his clothes in Zbrush and then used Blender for retopology. I used the hair tool addon in Blender to create the hair and Marmoset Toolbag to texture.
1860 Henry Rifle
I created this project to continue to improve my hard surface modelling techniques. I chose the 1860 Henry rifle because it has a unique loading mechanism where bullets are loaded from the end of the barrel.
The weapon's high and low poly models were modelled in Blender and textures were created in Marmoset Toolbag.
