Climate change has caused an increase in the heat waves affecting tropical countries. In Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, this rising heat added to the dense urban jungle, has resulted in unbearable heat waves across the city.

Concept

The aim of the game is to create a cute and fun game that also raises awareness on the effects of climate change, as well as to promote the act of planting trees in urban areas to reduce the impact of the heat waves.

The Process

I did most of the game development inside of Unity and the 3D modelling inside of Blender.

One of the primary goals during game development was creating interesting and unique levels. Levels would be set inside of the city, and be in different odd places that you could plant trees and greenery in.

Apart from that, another major part of the game development was fine tuning and making sure that the controls felt good to play with. After all, you can only really have your game communicate its message if the players stick around and play it.
