The Digidouble - 2022

3rd Year Project at ESMA Toulouse

This is my first attempt at a 3D double of myself, a challenging project were accuracy and realism are key !

The scan was made with Affinity, using photogrammetry.

Texture maps made using a combination of Photoshop, R3DS Wrap and Mari, based on cross polarized photos of my skin and eyes, and XYZ Textures.

All the extra sculpting/modeling on the 3D model was done with Zbrush and Maya 2022.

Grooming was done with XgenCore and the scarf was done with Marvelous Designer.

I think this was my most challenging project to date - getting that "natural look" using only a scan was tough, especially when it's your own face that you're working on ! Feedback and taking the time to really look at what your working on really helps with this process, you just have to trust that consistency in a big project like this is key, and staying focused on achievable regular goals really helps to keep motivated and to be sure that you're always making progress no matter how much !
