Concept Statement
The concept is inspired by the silhouette, function, and progression of organisms, known as biomorphic design, which meant something to the citizens of Hiroshima. It is also developed to create an indirect experience of Hiroshima for visitors to learn the history of Hiroshima, the will of Hiroshima citizens who wanted to overcome hardship and move on from the tragic events.
The concept "movement" and "layering" are also inspired by the progression of Hiroshima, with rich background and history, indirectly formed by stacking multiple layers of occurred events, actions of an organism, and tradition, which is what made Hiroshima Prefecture today.
Colour Scheme
The whole structure mainly focused on Red and Black colour as they represent as sacred colours of Japanese Shinto Culture.
Material
Wood is the primary material to express Japanese craftsmanship in wood carving and joinery skills.
