Concept Art Portfolio - The Messenger

The Messenger is a project I developed last year.  I wanted to do a cohesive project with character, props and environment design.  For the various parts of this project I have used Photoshop, Blender, ZBrush and Substance Painter.

The messenger lives with her community in a village constructed on the ruins of a half-built skyscraper. She flies on her glider, the Manta Flyer, to and from the village to bring messages and parcels.

For the character herself, I aimed to design all the layers of clothing she would wear in order to carry her messages while flying in the glider.  You can see the steps of this process below.

The messenger's village was build on the top of the ruins of a half-finished skyscraper.  I wanted to show how a less technologically advanced society would reclaim such a site and make use of the materials contained within it and around it.

The Manta Flyer is the vehicle that the messenger uses to bring her parcels and letters from her community to others and back.  I again wanted to show the use of reclaimed materials as well as the care and love of the messenger for her vehicle in how she personalized it.
