Typo Animation - The 1975

An animation to promote a new album – Note on a Conditional Form by The 1975. The animation includes an introduction of the band members, soundtracks and the album cover preview.

Based on the theme of the record; deconstruction, I went with a paper collage style where I used loose paper cuts to create the band members, accompanied by looping paper textures on the background.

Software used: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop

GUI - Samsung Serif TV

A video to showcase the Samsung Serif TV’s one-of-a-kind design and functionality, in addition to elevating the aesthetic of one’s living space.

The video starts off in a dull living space transforming into a modernised living room upon the introduction of The Serif TV. The living room then elevates into a nature landscape signifying the experience of true-to-life colours and details; highlighting features like adaptive images and quick to access connections. The video ends in a dim lited living room showing how from day to night, the Serif TV is able to provide anyone with a seamless and easy TV-viewing experience without compromising the living space.

End Title - Parasite

End title for film Parasite by Bong Joon-ho. The film tells the story of the struggling Kim family seeking an opportunity to sneak into the wealthy Park family to lead a parasitic life. The title showcases a sequence of events that took place before the Kim family infiltrated the Park’s house.

TVC - Po Chai Pill

A brand recall commercial for Po Chai Pill, they are tiny pills that come in vials commonly known for stomach pain remedies. The commercial highlights the less known remedies of the product through abstract representations; using objects found within the set scene; cold relief, stomach cramps and motion sickness.

The scene is set in a traditional medicine hall with 3 key objects that are used to communicate the remedies;
Tissue box representing cold relief
Acupuncture mannequin representing stomach cramps
And a coin-operated kiddie ride to represent motion sickness

Showreel 2022

A compilation of selected works I did through my time in 3dsense. For the reel intro, I had the idea of ‘looking back’, which has an analogue film reel style treatment showing thumbnail preview of some of the past works.

I went with a piece of classical music that was inspired by the OrdinaryFolk’s showreel; I really like the dramatic build-up and jump cuts that match the beat of the music.
