Alex Bush's Portfolio (3D Props and Weapons) - June 2021 - May 2022

Hello, my name is Alex Bush. I am a recent graduate from the University of Hertfordshire. I promoted myself from 'Contender' to 'Rookie' level this year because I gained my first year of employment from getting a summer internship straight after I finished university. I also had an opportunity to do a kickstart scheme as a junior 3D artist role towards the end of 2021. Since 2022, I have been unemployed and searching for games jobs that suit my skills and abilities. To summarise, I have worked three months at a internship and four months at a junior level but for a small indie games company.

I wanted to do The Rookies this year because it allows me to show off games assets I have done in my free time. It also gives me an idea of where I am as an artist and being able to keep consistently improving. My main focus has been creating 3D games assets that enables me to work on my quality.

Weapon 1 - 44. Magnum (Firearm)

I did the 44. Magnum asset to ensure I was closing the gap in terms of portfolio quality and creating games assets in a one week timeframe. This allowed me to improve my speed while keeping the quality consistent. I also focused on improving my presentation to ensure I was going for a photorealistic art style.

Feel free to have a look at my other 3D games props and weapons I have done. It also shows some breakdowns of wireframes and processes on how I created the artwork.

Weapon 2 - AK47 (Assault Rifle)

Weapon 3 - SPAS 12 (Shotgun)

Asset 1 - Viking Shield

Asset 2 - Hand Drill (Mechanical)

Asset 3 - Metal Dumpster

Asset 4 - Traffic Cone
