Hello! I am a graduate from the Visual Effects program at Capilano University, and this is the graduation reel I made over the last semester of the program. I wanted to make a FX reel, yet I also explored the possibilities to make my shot looks as beautiful and professional as possible. I hope you like it. Thank you!
Hello, here is my process of make this shot:
1. First, develop the layout and camera position in Maya.
2. Then, animate the dragon in Maya.
3. Export the elements into Houdini.
Run the RBD, Pyro and particle simulation respectively.
4. Export the elements as VDB to Maya.
Add texture and Look-dev on the dragon, environment and VDB (fire & dust).
5. After that, light the scene (redshift).
6. Render the scene with Redshift in Maya.
7. Finally, composite the rendered elements in Nuke.
