by seeeeven on 29 May 2021 for Rookie Awards 2021

The aim of this project is to enable the jobless to learn new skills and get jobs in the jobless training and employment center, or even get a job in the society. In this process, they could also gain back their self-confidence.

Homeless people are often depicted as persons who sleep on the streets, begging for alms. For those who have a deeper understanding of the issue, homelessness is a state of having no secure housing.

The homeless community in Malaysia has exploded since 2015. Those categorised as homeless without jobs have increased fivefold from 228 in 2015 to 1,158 in 2017. Up till June 2018 it recorded 564 homeless Malaysians. The number of those who became homeless also skyrocketed since 2015 from 328 to 1,387 last year. In June this year, the government recorded another 330 holeless individuals.

As nowadays there are more and more citizens enroll in courses and training programs, the opportunities for lower skilled workers became lesser. Without higher education qualification, they could only get low paying job and could hardly pay for housing. There are elders that are left by their children or being alone and could not work anymore.
