Robot Arm Teaparty

I made a blockout of this at my internship and decided to take a break from it. After the internship I decided to polish it up, so from the blockout stage to final result it took around 9 days. Since I wanted to make it more memorable, I added a cute object that would catch peoples interest more than "just a robot arm"

Robot Arm Teaparty

I started of with a blockout of this robot arm during my unpaid internship where no parts were sewed together, simply to show the costumer potentional angles and rotations. I placed it on hold for a few months, decided to actually finish it up. From the blockout stage and 9 days, you see the result below!

I wanted somehow to make it more interesting than "Just a robot arm", so I decided to let the arm hold something, but what exactly? Yes! A cute little object, in this case, a tiny tea cup!

This helped alot to build a story around the robotarm, where many allready had their own stories by just looking at it. "The robot was handing out toomany tea cups and broke!", "The robotarm was a personal butler till the end!", "The robotarm is out of service in the Teacup industry" and so on..

Beautyshots

Wireframe

Here you can see the wireframe of the robotarm. I am somewhat a topology-nerd, I love how topology flows together nicely and clean.

Highpoly

The highpoly of the model. Some parts not showing like screws that were baked seperatly. Also the actual fabric wire was also baked on a flat plane by it self.

Turntable

Here you can see a fully 360 turntable. I wanted to show as much as possible with the lighting I wanted to present it in.

Breakdown

To the left you see the robotarm textures. Middle shows a seperat texture for the wire incase of shaders to move it more naturally. To the right you see the texture seperatly applyed to the model.
