My first time creating an exterior image in an urban environment. I would not say that it was an easy challenge, but in the end I learned a lot. For less than 1 year ago I had never opened a 3D program and this is where I am now!

THE ARTISE

This project was a part of the urban architecture course that we had in school. The goal was to illustrate The Artise building designed by NBBJ located in Bellevue NE 8th St & 106th Ave NE.

My vision was to create a photorealistic image that showed the whole building and a little bit of the surroundings in the immediate area. I began with decide camera view and light in 3ds Max, which resulted in a previz, that I used as base to create a moodsketch. The sketch: A cold sky meeting a warm ground, playing around with dark and brightness such as shadows in the foreground and reflections on the building.

To my moodboard I also found an "after rain mood" image by Adam Mørk, that I used as main reference during the project. Some extra images are added to give a hint about elements that I wanted, for example, puddles, fog, the feeling of the road and the blue tinted glass.

The images bellow shows my process in 3D.

Followed by this breakdown video, showing my process in post production.

This is my final result!
