Sorceress and Crag

There is a lot of things going on in this scene. I started out with the ground, then added columns (they were created in Houdini using transform, extrusion and copy tools) and braziers.

The timings for Character and Crag animations had to be tweaked.

I have used multiple cameras, focused on one or both of the caracters. Camera number five has an animation at the end.

After that the effects were added.

Before compositing in Nuke, materials and lights were created in Houdini and then everything was rendered.

Smoke was challenging to do because I wanted to add wind to the scene. The tricky part was a drift of the wind. I had to make it in such a way that the drift happening on the smoke is not too uniform, in order to make it more realistic. The upper part has to move more than the bottom part.

Take a look below at the two versions of the smoke and it will be clear what I mean.
