The Ancient Lords | Banished elves

Hello! This is my most recent project, the creation of a new faction based on the World of Warcraft universe. Let's check it out, shall we?

First of all, we started doing silhouettes to describe our faction's language and some thumbnails of their territory. It was quite challening to work with such abstract forms, since our brain tends to look for structure on them.

Here we can see the exterior and the interior of the buildings where my faction lives. Since they live in a huge forest, wood was their main material for construction.

This is one finished illustration that represents the atmosphere where I imagine my faction living. Getting the sense of depth was really important, in terms of color especially. We started this illustration from a sketch, then placed some base colors, dramatic lightning, occlusions, atmospheric light... and then painted over it! Lots of hours of work, but so worth it.

Characters were as hard as fun to do. Creating interesting silhouettes that were legible was really difficult for me. But the hardest part of all was to choose the right color palette for each character.

This project is still in progress, hope this was enough to give you an idea of my faction!

Learning process Artworks

This is a recopilation of some works I did some months ago, learning the basics.

Classic cars! These were really hard to do at first, since their mechanisms were kinda complex. But it was so fun!

Medieval buildings were difficult sometimes, depending on the perspective. In this works we had a predefined perspective we had to follow, some of them being 3 points.

One of the frames evolved to this finished illustration, where I painted over for the first time. In this one the most challenging part was to represent the hour of the day I wanted for this piece, the sunset.

This building was the first one in which we used textures. We ended up painting over it to integrate it and I loved the result!

And this is all! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did on my journey. I have a lot to learn still, so don't go too far! Thank you for your time.
