Update - 23 Apr 2019

Concept art conveying an idea for a character in mind.

Thinking of head shapes combining the circular shape, which represents soft, with the square shape, which represents strong.

Keeping in mind this will be transformed into 3d, understanding my skills and hair limits in Maya short hairstyles are easy to manipulate and replicate.

Creating mood boards guiding the design of the clown style, clothing, makeup and colour pallet.

Digital drawing of the original concept, altering the colours and working on a pallet that best suits the character.

Red ~ Passion Drama Strong Emotions Courage Strenght & Power: Clowns (Red Clown Classic) Known for comic entertainment, play tricks, engage high jinks etc. Perfect use of the red representation.

Blue ~ Trust Calm Peace & Honesty: Ironic as clowns after practically opposite, using the meaning to draw in the victim of tricks. This colour is also known to be appealing to children aiding for the audience.

Yellow ~ Youth Fresh Energy Sunshine & Happiness: Eta is a young female, full of energy when in front of the 'Camera', portrays happiness,  her First name Eta means sunshine and surname Ellan meaning Magic.

Grey ~ Unemotional Detached Gloom & Avoids Attention: The grey represents Eta's personality behind her clown mask 'Mask of Action' being quite reserved & closed off lacking confidence.

Once the colouring was decided I further developed the character by using the 5 w's

After the 2d layout of the basics of the character, I moved onto Sculptris representing from the 3d aspects.
Once the rough form was built for the character I imported it to Maya 2018, using quad-draw then smoothing and adjusting several vertexes to achieve the correct shapes needed.

Now finding the patterns and textures that best give the characteristics.

Altering the eyes slightly adding a reflection to add more of a glimpse of life.
