Project 1

Character for an upcoming shortfilm in the works. This noble squid travels across a strange world of fractal mathematics to complete a mysterious quest. I co-designed him, textured him in Substance Painter, rigged him in Maya and rendered him using Arnold.

Project 2

Video game created by a few students Spring 2017. I directed the project, rigged and animated the monster, and mixed audio and sound design. Monster was rigged in Maya and animated using Qualisys motion capture.

The audio clips used in this project came from soundbible.com, findsounds.com, freesound.org, and purple-planet.com, and were mixed together using Adobe Premiere.

Project 3

Creature design based on the Bleeding Tooth fungus and the Pink Oyster mushroom. This woodland mushroom has adapted to its environment by mimicking nearby creatures for growth and survival. It typically imitates creatures with few predators, choosing a bright color scheme for added protection. The fungus is often found growing near the dead species it mimics.

Modeled in Zbrush, textured in Photoshop and Substance Painter, lit and rendered with RenderMan in Maya, and composited with After Effects.

Credits to Reductio on Sketchfab for the photoscan of the log, and credits to OlegYurkov on Sketchfab for the photoscan of the tree.

Project 4

The first room focusing on photorealistic environment design, low-poly room ready for VR or general Game Engine use. I did photogrammetry on real objects using Photoscan, as well as 3D modeled objects from scratch with ZBrush and Maya. Retopologized in ZBrush/Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and compiled the room at realistic scale. I also lit and rendered these stills using RenderMan in Maya.

Project 5

Red Panda study focusing on basic anatomy and movement. I modeled the joints in Maya to represent a simplified and elegant take on their muscles, and rigged/animated using a classic parenting rig setup. The animation was rendered with Arnold.

Project 6

A girl growing up in a fictional poor town in the early 1900s. Her dad was a pilot who died in war, leaving just her and her mother by themselves to survive. Inspiration from Lewis Hine and Dorothea Lange photography.

Modeled in Zbrush, textured in Substance Painter, lit and rendered with RenderMan in Maya, composited with After Effects.

Project 7

The second room focusing on stylized environment design, low-poly room ready for VR or general Game Engine use.

Project 8

3D model of myself. Started with Photogrammetry to obtain the rough data, then brought it into ZBrush to clean up and sculpt details. Hand retoped in Maya, used Substance Painter and Photoshop for texturing, used XGen for the facial hair, and rendered it out with RenderMan in Maya.
