The Visual Effects category is ideal for artists with a range of skills contributing to live-action film production. Whether you’re involved in creating assets, compositing, or other aspects of post-production, this is your platform to showcase your expertise.

• Modelers and Environment Artists: Display assets designed for seamless integration into live-action scenes, showing attention to detail and realism.
• Compositors and Post-Production Experts: Demonstrate how you blend digital creations with live-action footage to create convincing scenes.
• All VFX Disciplines: Show your ability to produce photo-realistic visuals that enhance the story. Your work should reflect your knowledge of the VFX pipeline and how it contributes to the overall impact of the film.

Judging Criteria

The judges are primarily looking for artists who are ready to enter the industry. They will assess your readiness for an entry-level job based on:

Entry Requirements and Guidelines

• Individual entries only; no team or professional projects.
• Multiple Projects: Include a range of projects that best showcase your Visual Effects skills.
• Explain Your Work: Provide brief descriptions for each project, detailing your role, techniques used, and challenges faced. Include supporting materials like sketches and storyboards.
• Professional Presentation: Ensure your entry is clear, visually appealing, and easy to navigate.

How to enter

1. Click “Submit Entry” to create an entry page.
2. Upload a collection of your best work, including images, videos, and breakdowns.
3. Choose ‘Rookie of the Year > Visual Effects’ as your category.
4. Agree to rules and confirm eligibility.
5. Confirm & Submit your entry to judging panel.
