I have loved drawing ever since I could hold a pencil, and watching cartoons even before that, so it was natural that I would at least consider a field in the animation industry. As I entered high school, I thought about going into a field that is more "practical," but even then, that just didn't feel right. Then in my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to learn Blender and fell in love with 3D. I guess you could say my experience is more of a journey than a single realization.
