Fatima Mandouh
United StatesAs a teenager, I had this dream of working for some of the top AAA studios in the industry and I wasn't going to go for anything less than what I had envisioned. But, as an adult, I realized that it didn't matter where I was working as long as I was doing what I loved, and I was constantly proving myself to be a valuable asset and a team player. I love working with others, teams are so important when developing a project. I find it extremely exciting when working as a team and hearing everyone's opinions, critiques and inputs make me feel very whole and important. My goals are becoming a team member, a valuable asset and a problem solver.
As a high schooler, I always knew I wanted to be involved in some type of artistic field as an adult. I never once for a second imagined myself becoming an Environment concept artist, I always thought being a concept artist meant you had have already had the skills growing up, I never once thought if you trained hard enough a skill like this was achievable. It wasn't until Spring of last year 2018 that I realized how much I needed to be painting environments. I learned a lot of things about myself this year that I always knew but never materialized before. For me, teaching myself environment art was a huge sacrifice on my social life because I knew that if I was going to do it, I had to do it right and do it as efficiently as possible. I invested all my time into learning, studying and practicing. Eventually, I began to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and it started to become easier for me. I am no means a professional yet and I have so much to learn still and probably forever. But 2018 was the best year of my life because I found myself through art.
