A mythical creature similar to a cadejo, killed four unknown subjects who wanted to savagely murder the animal. This creature followed in the footsteps of his entire family who demonstrated evil, indignation and cruelty. They are all in some paintings inside the temples.

CINEMATIC

This final project was done for the subject "Creation and Setting of 3D Environments" at the University of Monterrey. It was a 5-month effort trying to find the interesting side of this experience, because in addition to the fact that it was new for me, it wasn't easy at all, I had certain doubts about how I was going to develop it. But at the end of the day, the important thing is to show a work with structured models, textures created with different programs and a planned environment can become a simple and easy work. Unreal Engine is the most powerful software in digital animation, and I recognize how valuable it was to learn certain topics that I didn't understand at all.

BREAKDOWN

The first thing I did was modular planning for the stage.

The next step was to start creating the mountainous terrain from Gaea

I designed the trim sheets for the textures of the different materials such as the floor, ramp, roof, walls and temples.

MATERIAL SHOWCASE AND SUBSTANCE DESIGNER GRAPHS

HERO ASSET

The original idea of ​​the hero asset is a prop that the cadejo can play with it. It started as a decapitated head that him could play with day and night.

But it ended up being a rock hooked to a rope, and with it knocking down the four decapitated heads that are on the podiums, then putting the heads back on the podiums and knocking them down again. It is a way for the cadejo to entertain himself so as not to get bored, beyond seeing the paintings of his family attracting an evil spirit that makes him more powerful.

VEGETATION

For the vegetation I used two types of trees, one inside the patio and another as a background. I worked on Speedtree trying to get the shape I had planned in the modular planning, so that it looked very realistic. For the leaves I downloaded a texture in Bridge, and in Substance 3D Designer I made the texture of the tree trunk.

FIRE

I put the fire effect in the light area of ​​the candle, it was also a simple idea because I wanted to illuminate some areas of both temples, the orange and the black. I discovered an effect that appears in Cascade Particle and I just made a few adjustments so that lighting sensation can be noticed.
