This project was done by my colleague Miguel Angel and me in 2 weeks under the theme of signs. We came in second place for the best game award. I am the main programmer of the project, although I also did some modeling and animation.

LOST & FOUND

Lost & Found is a single-player psychological horror game with PSX-inspired graphics. In this game, you play as a private investigator who has been sent to a forest called Greywood Thicket. You will have to find the 8 signs that evidence what has been happening in the forest and solve the case. But be careful, because you are not the only one in the forest.

INVENTORY SYSTEM

In this game, you will have an inventory system which consists of 3 items: a lantern, a camera, and a map. Each item has a specific function. You can switch between them using your scroll wheel or the R1 and L1 buttons on your controller.

Lantern: You can use the F button or △ to turn it on and off. It will help you see because it's nighttime and everything is very dark.

Camera: With the camera, you can take photos of the signs that are spread throughout the forest. To do that, you will first have to hold down the right-click or L2 button to aim where you want to take the picture and then left-click or R2 to take the photo. Later in this same post, I will explain the photo mechanic in more detail.

Map: It will show you the whole map of the forest. Because we didn't want to give you hints about where you are, you will have to guide yourself by certain elements in the map, like the lake. However, every time you take a photo, it will show up on the map with an X sign marking where you took that photo.

PHOTO AND CARDBOARD MECHANIC

I'm going to explain the photo mechanic I mentioned earlier. When you take a photo with your camera, it will be hung up on the cardboard inside your cabin.

If you go back to your cabin and look at your cardboard, it will show the sign you took the photo of. If you interact with the cardboard with the E or X button, a new interface will show up.

Then you will see all the signs you have taken photos of, and you can click them to view the photo you just took along with a little description of what happened at that place. The photo you see is a screenshot that you have just taken!

CAR

In this game, you will have a car to travel through the map, which is quite large. You can enter the car, and a new camera angle that limits your vision will be set. You can use the F button or X to turn on the car lights. You can also enter the passenger seat, but you will not be able to drive from there. You can use the spacebar or A button to use the brakes. To exit the car, turn your camera to the door.

SANITY AND STAMINA METER

In this game, you are racing against the clock and against your sanity. In the upper right corner of your screen, there is a red skull meter that represents your sanity. It will decrease over time until you go crazy, but there are a few options to help you survive. When you are in your car, your sanity will stop decreasing. When you take a photo of a sign, you will gain a little bit of sanity. Finally, when you enter your cabin, you will slowly recover sanity.

You also have a stamina meter situated at the bottom left of your screen. When you run, you will get tired and have to wait a little bit before you can run again. This will be helpful in certain situations and also for moving through the forest quickly so you don't go crazy.

ENEMY

There is an enemy that is pursuing you all the time, this is made by placing an nav mesh agent an making it follow the player all the time. If the enemy catches you  it will kill you.

MODELLING

I was responsible for modeling and texturing several sign props, as well as all the elements inside the cabin. Additionally, I modeled, textured, and rigged the main character.
