Scissor lift Snorkel SL20

I present to you my first project which is the Scissor lift Snorkel SL20, it is one of the biggest projects that I have been able to carry out currently. This is my first time where I created a Vehicle, it was very enriching the Modeling aspect up to the Texture.

As a novice in this, I was able to exchange with professionals in the field, most of whom are specialized as Vehicle Artists, and I was able to come up with this project.

Then I took over this project and I was able to achieve this final blocking.

I started with Blocking but during the process, I was not satisfied with the model.

So I modified some parts to have this final model.

Also, I wanted to bring something new to this project and I wanted to put a tarplin on this Scissor.

To do this, I used Maya (I could have used Marvelous Designer but I opted for the Maya method for technical problems against my will.

I first placed a plane above the Scissor then applied an Ncloth/PAssive Collider on my Plane and the mesh which will serve as a collider.

Then I let the magic work and after a lot of modifications in the settings, I arrived at this result.

Finally to finalize my Blocking, I added Post-its/Notepads and other props to tell a story with this mesh.

Then the Sculpt stage to get my High in order to Bake all this.

Then the UV stage with the Low.

After all these steps are done, we can start the Texture.

I started with the tarplin, I started applying the base then as I added effects I arrived at this final point.

Also, to get the impression that the Scissor under the cover remained inactive for a long time, I added different superimposed dust effects to get this result.

The tarplin finished, I started the Scissor. I first started with the tires until finishing with the upper part. I used quite a few techniques during this project, techniques like Peeling Paint, rust peeling as well.

There was also a lot of work on the alphas, as I wanted the model to resemble the original model while adding personal things, I proceeded with Photoshop, I imported certain alphas from this Scissor and others that I created it personally.

Then all this applied, direction Marmoset for the final rendering.

Conclusion:

Thank you for looking at my last project, it was a pleasure to do this project, I was able to deepen/acquire new skills and this project allowed me to change my mode of operation and to do more ambitious projects.

Thank you and see you soon for new projects :)
