Industry Project CR5001
Group project with class. Role animator. Given an animatic from our tutor, each student had their individual roles to work on and work with each other. As a class we needed to produce an animation based off the animatic.
GROUP INDUSTRY PROJECT
My class and I were given roles to collaborate like an animation studio to turn an animatic into an animation. I was assigned as an animator for two shots, 0030 Woof shot and 0270 Triangle shot. My shots were simple. I needed to animate a dog barking for 1-2 seconds, and animate a close of someone playing a triangle for 1-2 seconds. We had four weeks to collaborate on this project. Week 1 dedicated to animation tests for animators, character and background design for art directors and character designers/environment designers. Week 2 dedicated to animating each shot, focusing on getting a rough animation. Week 3 dedicated to cleaning up line work and implementing colour. Week 4, final tweekings and compositing.
WEEK ONE
During week one, on the first day I looked at the animatic and my shots and immedietly thought, 'I need to know how to draw a dog barking and I need to know what someone playing a triangle looks like'. First thing I decided to do was open up youtube and search for reference videos. I found two videos that striked out to me as learning material.
