My first Maya model - Wizard Tower

This Project was my first Maya works to learn the functionality and fundamentals of the software. The goal was to create a 3D Model of the Wizard Tower, based on an existing artwork from Sylvain Sarrailh, Mainly the focus was on creating a clean UV and the textures of the tower. Finally, I placed the Tower in an environment as we imagine it to learn more about the fundamentals of Maya.

Most of my objects are created out of one piece of a plane base with the focus on low poly creation with a cab of 10.000 verts in sum for the whole project. That was my personal challenge too, Especially the creation of the tree platform and stairs. Another challenge was to UV the whole environment. I reached my personal goal to UV everything inside my Tower project. At least, i challenged to paint textures in PSD. It was my first time to work with a graphic tablet. I learned a lot about creating objects in Maya and would use my new learned skills to improve my creations in future to getting better.

I want to improve my knowledge about lightning and retopology. And I can’t wait to learn Zbrush or Adobe Substance to paint my 3D objects in future.
