Cabin in the Valley

This is an in progress Unreal engine environment of a Mountain Valley Forest with paths leading to a cabin. This is my first big project since graduating university, so I taking my time to focus on details and realism. I would appreciate and feedback as this project develops.

Update - 4 Mar 2024

I have now textured some areas of the cabin in Substance Painter, and I think it looks a lot better. I didn't retexture the whole cabin because I liked how some aspects of the cabin looked with the UE textures. I also added buckets of flowers, some chairs on the porch, and a trash can with trash bags. By adding those small things I think it really brought the scene to life. I was struggling trying to make it feel like a place people visit, so I'm very happy with the atmosphere now. I also retextured the picnic table in Substance Painter and I like the light brown color a lot more than the red.

I still have a few more tiny things I want to add, but I think I am nearing the end of this project. Can't wait to composite my final renders!

Update - 1 Feb 2024

I redid the cabin and I like it a lot more. Most of my reference material showed a very simple cabin so I got rid of the L shaped foundation and just went with a simple one. I also added a post process volume and started tweaking the settings to make the environment feel a bit more lively. Still got more to do, but seeing it with post processing is pretty cool.

I now have a few more assets modeled and have incorporated megascans to fill in a campsite next to the cabin.  Planning on redoing the cabin because it doesn't feel right.

Update - 22 Jan 2024

Hello, welcome to my page! This is my first project I will post here, and my first big project since graduating university. The scene I am working on is a forest mountain valley with a small cozy cabin. I am using Unreal engine, Blender, and Quixel Bridge. I want this project to be an elaborate portfolio piece showcasing all of my abilities. I would appreciate and feedback as it develops.
