Eddie the Fire Surveyor Droid

Here's a couple renders from a Surfacing assignment at Media Design School using a provided asset of Eddie the Robot which was created by Paul Braddock, and simplified/UV unwrapped by Christina Ryan. 

I was given full creative freedom for the concept and decided to create a version of Eddie that was used as a Retro-Futuristic Fire Surveyor Droid. Eddie would be sent into fires before humans to survey environments and rescue trapped life forms

I used Substance 3D Painter to texture, thinking about the wear and tear Eddie would face in fires as he is deployed repeatedly, along with adding stickers and engravings that his fireman operators would decorate him with. The panels were created with the relatively new pen tool and height values, and the eroding paint with anchor points and custom generators.
