Foundations Final Project
A cute robot that I found on ArtStation by Sleud. I tend to lean more towards stylized art and stumbled upon this stylized robot character! The original concept is in 2D and our task was to re-create the concept in 3D.
This was my foundations final project, achieved within a mere four months despite having no prior experience. The objective of this project was to transform a personally chosen 2D image into 3D. This project holds a special place in my heart as it proves what dedication and time investment can achieve. Reflecting on the past, I recognize numerous areas for improvement; nevertheless, I am genuinely surprised that someone without prior experience, much like myself, can successfully complete a project of this nature in just four months.
Here is the original concept (bottom) and my project (top)!
Here is my material board that I created prior to starting my project.
I wanted to recreate the robot with a personal touch. If you look closely, the eyes of the robot are actually my real eyes! I took an image of my eye, put it in photoshop to fit the texture size and remove the reflections, then I put in back in Maya to apply to the eye model that I built in Maya then made further adjustments in my materials to match the concept better!
