As a part of my pitch for my original IP, a graphic novel, I composed a mockup of what the comic pages could look like.

Comic Page Mockup

Across the Delta

As part of my pitch for my original IP, Across the Delta, I created a four-panel comic page to show the possible style I would like the book to be in. This is purposefully more highly rendered so as to step away from the usual webcomic and printed comic styles, and reflects inspiration from JC Leyendecker.

The comic shows the two main characters arriving at a port and arguing about the plan forward. The written text is below.

Panel 1: Mykyta and Laev walking through the Pramanyan port, guiding Laev’s horse. Laev has just arrived from Ciranvista and met Mykyta, who is guiding him to his wagon (yet unseen). There is a yellow rim-light around Laev and his horse (caution, anxiety, excitement) and a touch of red around Mykyta (irritation).

Laev: You’re being ridiculous.
Mykyta: I’m not. You’re being illogical.
LaevCan you not just hear me out? You’ve done nothing but judge me since I’ve come here —

Panel 2: A still image of a nearby market stall. It shows a newspaper propped up just below the dialogue.

Laev (implied): —need I remind you that I’m the one paying you?
Mykyta (implied): Money’s worthless if you’re dead.

Panel 3: A closer close-up of the newspaper. It shows a recent publication about the wyrm that Laev is looking to do research on, though this is mostly implied. Some yellow creeps into the frame more obviously.

Mykyta (implied): You’ve been here for five minutes and assume you’re the expert from a few books you’ve read.
I’m warning you. That’s also my job.

Panel 4: A graphical close-up of Laev’s face, briefly introspective. He looks concerned and doubtful of himself. The yellow briefly surrounds him, indicating his anxiety about what he is about to do — and adding credence to the following words.

Mykyta (or Laev's thoughts?): You don’t know what you’re getting into.
