Consecutive explosions
My second iteration with explosions in Houdini.
This is my second iteration with explosions in Houdini 19. It started as a single explosion that i was trying to make look good then i started getting creative and trying to explore and add some more and here we are!
in the video you can see some about the making off and the path i took to arrive to the final render.
the steps in short here:
1- Making the emmitters for the various explosions
2-Simulating the emmitter explosions using the Axiom solver in houdini
3-A bit of retime of every explosion to have a pump in the first frames and making them slower immediately after
4-Making the shockwave emmitters for every big explosion
5-Transforming the 3 big explosions in poly to have more posibility to edit them (this ones will be used later as a collision vdb for each shockwave)
6-Scaling the explosion normals by 30%
7-Transform the new explosion 30% wider in VDB to be used as a collision and influence in the pressure of the shockwave smoke simulation
8-Again a bit of retime of few simulations
9-Editing and colorcorrecting in Davinci Resolve
