Character Design: Rocco the Raccoon

Character design for a cute litte raccoon I made for a children's book idea. Rocco comes from a family of recycle raccoons, who live in a trash can. One day he makes the decision to go out into the world and go on adventure that changes his life forever.
I love illustrating for children's books because there's always a sense of innocence that are brought to the characters. They have to be relatable and even be a bit child like themselves.
I like to give them big, shiny eyes, and overall round proportions to add to the cuteness.
