"Metal/Wizard" Fighting Game Character Concept
A project centered around the basis of designing a character with a fighting game in mind. I worked off a self-established criteria where the design would reflect the character's gameplay archetype and functionality, alongside a visual narrative to tie personality and gameplay together.
The process begins in early design ideation, exploring the main visual elements and finding the balance between musician and wizard. This was then expanded upon with a focus on details and costume design, where the cloak forming the silhouette of a wizard robe became prominent here.
One significant stage was ideating animations, using DesignDoll as a base to explore a series of key animation poses within gameplay context. The concept was finalised with colour tests, a turnaround design sheet and presentation art.
