This project was done during a course taught by Gael Kerchenbaum Creature texturing workshop in Mari. Gael is a remarkable artist and it was my pleasure to get a chance to be a part of his workshop.
The model is provided by him, all texturing, scene setup and rendering is by me.

Mari progress from primary colors to the final shader
During the workshop we tackled variety of different texturing methods and workflows:
- painting a custom displacement map using Texturing XYZ
- microfacet theory
- secondary and tertiary colors using model maps and displacement info
- procedural details and how to create procedurals for re-using in Mari
- how to add personality with custom painted patterns
- setting up a look-dev scene in Arnold for Maya with controls for displacement, specular and SSS
and many more.
