I wanted to create a robot, so i got the idea of mixing robot and animal and got  Scorpion. The model was created in Autodesk Maya, textured and painted in Substance Painter. To get the realistic, cinematic look i used Arnold Render within Maya. After "finishing" with modeling, while i was looking at my model i realized that something was missing. It wasn't powerful enough on initial contact. I decided to add wings, horns and few other details.

Preparing the UV setup was the next step, before exporting it to Substance Painter. Two of the most important things while setting up the UV is to be careful with the UV map distortion and pixel density. White color indicates that there are no map distortions, as you can see mine is not perfect, but who cares. The pixel density decides the quality of the texture.

In Substance Painter i painted the model first in 3 main colors (gold, black, red). Then i created my smart materials, using the generator modes like curvature, dirt, metal edge wear and dust.

Setting up the Render settings in Maya was the final stage before getting the render images. For the image size FullHD with 100 Resolution pixels. I placed lights and Ambient Occlusion map, with a blue tint on the black color and all other AOV's settings Arnold Render can offer to get the desired outcome. There is also atmosphere to make us feel like there is air and ray depth combined with clamping to get the best light options.
