Iron Giant Full Body Rig

🇬🇧 Hi everyone! Today I present to you a full body rig of one of my favorite characters of my childhood: the Iron Giant!

🇮🇹 Ciao a tutti! Quello che vi presento oggi è un rig completo di uno dei miei personaggi preferiti dell'infanzia: il Gigante di Ferro!

🇬🇧 Oh what a mess! Okay, let's look into it a bit further step by step.

🇮🇹 Che casino! Okay, analizziamolo passo passo. 

🇬🇧  First, I placed the joints, starting from the pelvis one down to every body part, including the eyelids.

🇮🇹 Per prima cosa ho piazzato i joint, partendo da quello del bacino, fino a coprire ogni parte del corpo, incluse le palpebre.

🇬🇧 I then created the controls, which I attached to the related joints with constraints. Notable ones are the eyelids controls, for example, whose animation is automatized by a slider I made.

🇮🇹 Ho poi creato i controlli che ho collegato ai rispettivi joints con dei constraint. Da evidenziare per esempio sono i controlli delle palpebre, cui animazione è automatizzata da uno slider.

🇬🇧 I also made a switch for the FK/IK Controls for the arms. (Node editor below)

🇮🇹 Ho anche fatto uno switch FK/IK per i controlli delle braccia (qui sotto il Node Editor)

🇬🇧 Last but not least, I made some custom attributes for the Foot Control in order to make quick poses with the body part, such as Heel Lift, Toe Roll, Heel Roll and Toe Spin.
I then binded the joints to the skin.

🇮🇹 Ultimo ma non meno importante, ho fatto degli attributi custom per il controllo del piede per facilitare l'utilizzo di quick poses, come Heel Lift, Toe Roll, Heel Roll e Toe Spin.
Ho poi fatto "bind skin" dai joints alla skin.
