My Character Process

The creation process of my original character

Here´s a piece that I made before summer now. This is my first full character creation that I´ve made in 3D, and I learned a lot from this process.

This character is my own original character that I created in 2D first and then developed a 3D version from my 2D concept.

Before I started sculpting the character, I sat down and did some studies of human anatomy to have the best possible basis to be able to get best possible outcome for my character.

The model is sculpted in ZBrush, retopologized in Maya and textured in Substance 3D Painter.

After I had finished the charactes body, it was time to make some clothes for her. For this, I met a new real challenge since I decided to make them in Marvelous Designer, which was a program I never used before. This lead to a completely new learning process. I did some experimenting to figure out what would work best for me with my lack of knowledge (at the beginning) and for the character and the concept I had for her.

The shoes were not created in Marvelous Designer, but modelled in Maya.

After I had created the clothing in Marvelous Designer, I moved it over to ZBrush to refine it and give it some extra details. 

When everything was done, I brought it into Marmoset Toolbag 4 to render out the final product.
