INFECTED HOUND

“Infected Hound” is a project centred on the design and creation of a fantasy-horror Doberman dog infected with the virus from the series and game “The Last of Us”. Taking inspiration mainly from the series, the dog is seen covered in species of mushrooms, boils and wounds. Parts of its body have begun developing into branches and growths resembling the infectious cordyceps of The Last of Us. Chunks of flesh have been eaten up by the fungi, and there is evidence of transmission on the dog's body - scratches, bites, suggesting the infection is transferred through bacteria like traditional depictions of zombie infections in media. The model is intended to convey a story of its own, with a dark mood and a gory model to match; however, having the infection take over a common house-hold pet conveys that any animal is capable of being overrun by it, and that perhaps there are even more terrifying, zombie-like beasts in this fantasy universe.
