"Fly me to the Moon"
A second-year project where I used plain ol' torus objects to create the illusion of a twisting beanstalk

I really enjoyed trying to speed up my assets creation and was really happy about the colour palette for this one.

This Character was designed, box modelled, rigged, skinned, textured and animated by me as part of my 2nd-Year assignments.

Below: I tested out silhouettes before starting on the sketch and once I found one that felt right I went ahead with the full design on the left

Blendshapes were created to bring life to her and allow the rig to perform better.... hoping I have a picture of the blendshapes somewhere here...

hmmmm...

Aaaaah there they are.. hidden in an old instagram post

And lastly, I needed to do an animation with voice acting. This was by far the toughest part and the one where I over-scoped what I could do in 2 weeks. instead of just focusing on the animation I spent a lot of the time doing set design and so many unnecessary extras.... but hey we learn, we move

So as you can see I spent a long ass time on the intro and credits and assets and background and quinoa and and and... and the animation didn't hit very hard.

but something did hit and that was a hard lesson... Animation isn't easy.

It was the one thing I felt I couldn't grasp and couldn't speed up. it infuriated me... and so I decided to go into animation and rigging in my third year so I would be forced to learn how to do it.

Now I am  a Full-time 3D Animator ( who would've guessed)
