Dragon VFX Character
This project has been done during my organic modeling course at Lightbox Academy. It was a 3-month project in which there was a little suffering but he got ahead and ready to teach.
Character reference and design
For this project, I wanted to make a creature and I decided to make a dragon, I based myself on a reference that I found where the concept seemed beautiful and its pose attractive, so I decided to do that, my only problem was that I only had a reference but look separately for references to different dragons.
Blocking and early sculpt
Topology
UVs
One of the most difficult parts apart from the retopology was cutting and ordering the UVs of the project, of which it was the most time consuming. I used a maximum of 18 tiles for the entire character.
Displacement maps and detailing
One of the things I learned during this master's degree is the Geometry HD tool and the displacement maps, which allowed me to apply more detail to the model.
Texturing
Posing
The posing was done with Zbrush masks and Transpose master tool.
