Good Job (2023)

I was the art director and director of the short film 'Good Job' (2023), which features a monster trapped in a dark room compelled to draw continuously by a computer. The short film was inspired by my experiences as a creative, and aims to shine a light on the work-focused toxicity that plagues the creative industries.

As art director, I was heavily involved in the project from its conception, and helped work on the concept art and designs that were used in the final film.

I was also a background painter for the majority of the project. I later acquired assistance to help detail the backgrounds with Kiaan Turnbull and Tobi Elliot.

I was a cleanup animator and animator on the project as well, and cleaned up my teammate's shots whilst also working on my own so we would have a consistent look for the film.

In the following shot, the cleaned up version I did  is on the left, and the rough shot that Philip did is on the right.

I also composited the entire film, combining the backgrounds, animations from the team, colouring, lighting and effects into the final shot.

For the two shots below, Philip, Pascal and I worked on the animation, Kiaan, Tobi and I worked on the Backgrounds and I worked on the compositing.
