Shinto Shrine Environment
The inspiration for this project came about from my language exchange trip to Japan and playing Ghost of Tsushima game. While visiting Japan I took a lot of photographs which informed my ideas for this project.
The aim for this project was to learn, understand and further familiarise myself with the the Highpoly > Lowpoly > Baking > Texturing and Engine pipeline.
Goals; Working with references, Create foliage, working with UDIMS, Stay within Texel Density, Know when it's appropriate to Break Texel Density, Master Materials, Lighting, Composition, Shape language and Story telling elements.
This was a really tough project, until this point I have never touched foliage, substance designer and hadn't worked very much within engine.
However, I feel that I have learned very quickly and although this project isn't at the quality I have liked, I pulled through and achieve great quality none the less and with it I learned so much.
I have a very strong feeling that my next project is going to be so much better with all the elements I learned in the course of this project.
I'm really looking forward to my next art piece.
