Willy Sloth - GameJam Project

Hi! I've been quite busy this last 2 months doing some client work and working on my own skills. I'll be updating my profile these days.

The past 2 weeks I've been involved in a gamejam project proposed by IndieDevDay, ElDevInvisible, with the proposal to gift another team (or person) their game idea. On the raffle, we got a collectathon game, knowing that his favourite animal is a Sloth, his favourite color is orange and he loves games like Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper.

My part on this project was to design the main character, his main tool, texture part of the props and platforms that conform the level and overall, make sure that all the 3D designs and textures were in armony. We tried to make sure that the game looks like a classic 3D platform game (Banjo-Kazooie,  Sly Cooper,  Crash Bandicoot...)

Personally, in this game I took a step forward on my skills, since I finally learnt Substance 3D Painter. I love it and had so much fun with it.

With no more words, here is my part on this project.

Concept ideas and exploration for the character and the staff (main tool). Final design chose was #6.

Character sheet for 3D Modelling

Character and staff textures. Staff holds the power of new abilities inside each holes in forms of runes (Fire, Earth and Water). You can see them in next image.

These 2 last props are part of the tutorial, that's why we decided to put some images referencing the abilities of the sloth at the begining, as a reinforcement to what the player has to do to complete this zone.
