Laocoon's Hand

The goal for this assignment was to sculpt a hand to go along with the previous arm model. Because of this, I kept Laocoon and His Sons as the reference. One big challenge I face was having limited reference angles for this hand, so I had to use multiple other sources during the sculpting process. 

Having attempted a realistic skin polypaint on the arm model, I decided to go a different route for the hand. I found a marble material and played around with it to get it to a point where I was satisfied. I really enjoyed the process of layering different alphas and building up material along the palm and knuckles of the hand, and I'm ultimately very happy with how this sculpt came out.
