I approached the challenge of recreating this bust by first finding a base-mesh to start from. From here, I trimmed parts of the base I didn't need like the chest and parts of the neck. I then added a cylinder to the base of the neck to replicate the original. From here I sculpted the larger parts of the bust like the jawline and profile view of her face. Next, I created the hair from many torus shapes stacked together. My final step was to add details that weren't possible at lower subdivision levels like delicate creases and stone-like texture. I think the biggest challenge for me in my process was the limitation that comes with using Nomad sculpt on an iPad. Towards the end of this project, the program began to slow down significantly and I eventually had to call it a day. I was unable to get super fine details like the braids on the back of her head so I tried to replicate these more simply that what they actually are. My reproduction isn't an exact duplication of the original but I tried my best and gained invaluable knowledge along the way that I can then apply to future projects.
